NSW Deaf Sports wishes to share our condolences on the passing of Kevin Mitchell, aged 84. He played tennis for Australia at the World Games for the Deaf (Deaflympics) at Sweden in 1973 and Romania in 1977. Won silver medal with John Kemp for doubles in Sweden.

He also played tennis for NSW at the Australian Deaf Games. Won three gold medals for doubles with John Kemp (1967-68, 1976-77 & 1979-80); one gold medal for mixed doubles with Dulcie Moir (1973-74). His best result for single was a silver medal in 1976-77. He leaves behind a rich sporting history with the Deaf tennis community.
